Posted by Michael Hervas on

Dogs are man’s best friend, and we keep our bond with our canine friend by giving them favorite treats and pamper them with some tender loving activities. It’s National Dog Day on August 24, and we’re sharing 5 simple ways to show your love and appreciation to your dog.

#1 - Take Your Dog for a Swim:

Dog Swimming in Pool

Swimming is a good exercise and a fun activity for both you and your dog. Take your dog for a swim in your pool or to the nearest beach. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen before you go out under the sun.

#2 - Give Your Dog a Relaxing Bath:

Dog Shampoo Bath

Bathing is important to keep your dog clean and healthy. We all love to get pampered, including dogs. Getting a relaxing bubble bath is the best way to get pampered. Bring some treats just in case your dog panic during the bath. After the bath give your dog a favorite treat or toy. Don’t forget to buy your dog’s favorite shampoo.

#3 - Host a Playdate:

Call your friends who also owns a dog and set up a playdate. You can alternatively just go to the park and you’ll eventually find other dogs there. Your dog will definitely love interacting with other furry friends. It’s a great way to make some new friends for you and your dog.

#4 - Buy your Dog a Bed:

Dog bed and lounger

Everyone loves to sleep on a soft and comfy bed specially dogs. After years of use, the bed might already be all worn out and it’s time to buy a new one. Get your dog a soft and comfortable bed to rest its weary paws. A well-rested dog is a happy dog.

#5 – Go for a Relaxing Walk.

 Walking the dogs

Walking is good for both dogs and their owners. It’s the best way to go out of the house and get some exercise for you and your dog. Before going out check your dog leash first if it needs a replacement. Take your dog for a scenic walk in the park or near the beach. You’d be surprised that your dog is a great work out companion. It’s a great way to get some relaxing fresh air too.
